NATIONAL ANGLING COUNCIL

Back

The 6th CSSC National Pike Angling Championship match took place on 1st November 2012 on Llyn Brenig, North Wales.

On the day, 10 anglers turned up to compete in the "CSSC Individual Pike Angling Championship" and the "CSSC Pike Angling Pairs Championship". There was a chilly nip in the air and a bright sunny sky with very little breeze when the anglers set out but during the course of the day they experienced wind, rain and hail along with further blue skies. Unfortunately although a few trout were caught none of our competitors caught a pike although there were reports of others caught by members of the public up to 23lbs.

Llyn Brenig's west coast is made up of many small bays and by utilising the boundary roadways Treasurer Tony Cliff and myself were able to move about looking for decent photo opportunities. Although we never managed to get pictures of competitors playing monster pike we were treated to an aerial dog flight by two Eurofighter Typhoons.

If anyone has an idea of another venue for this competition then please let Dave Gardner know about it.
